Green Hippo will be supplying 11, V4 Boreal and 4, V4 Karst Media Servers (including back ups) for the amazingly designed set. Previous Eurovision song contests in Finland and Sweden have been run by Hippotizer V3 media servers; we are very much looking forward to seeing the results for Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

It was a hard won fight with other media servers in the mix but ultimately the power and most importantly real time, easy to use aspect of the V4 Hippotizer media servers won out.

Green Hippo servers are used across 20 countries as the server of choice for TV shows and are proud to reliably provide live shows throughout the world. In addition to supplying the equipment as an official Technical Event Supplier we will be presenting our servers at the ESC cafe during LLB Trade Show which takes place alongside the show and gives us the opportunity to meet potential clients not just from Sweden but around the world.

Our Swedish distributor SSR Beacon will also have a stand and represent Hippotizer products at LLB.

It has been announced that 43 countries will be competing in this year’s competition; with a revamped voting system, the return of some nations that were absent from recent years, and a special guest country making another appearance.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the longest running television shows in the world. It was on the 24th of May, 1956, that Europe saw the first ever Eurovision Song Contest. After all those years, the contest is one of the most typical European traditions and without doubt, Europe’s favourite TV show.
