User Interface

Hippotizer has always received acclaim for its Control Centre. With V3 we've taken this to a radical new level. All of the existing controls have been revamped to provide a more intuitive, responsive and interactive experience. And with the advent of user-defined GUI layouts it's now possible to have only what you need with a clear reference to important items.

We've looked at functions needing more than just a fader and moved to truly intuitive operation. And where necessary, we've made things simpler whilst increasing flexibility.

Take the new geometry controls for example. Users now have a visual representation of media in the context of the screen area. By dragging the square around the workspace you can move the image on the layer. New keyboard shortcuts make manipulation easy. Holding down the Alt-Key lets you to zoom, whilst holding down the Shift-Key changes to fine adjustment for unprecedented accuracy. You can use the CTRL-Key to rotate, CTRL+ALT to adjust aspect ratio and so on, all from within the Control Centre with full previewing.

This design ethic has been worked into all areas resulting in better visual referencing and faster workflow. Use of items such as colour pickers and improved file and status information make life with a Hippotizer a much simpler yet productive experience.

But perhaps the biggest evolution is the new GUI designer where you can build your own Hippotizer Control Centre by simply dragging and dropping GUI elements from a list in the main control window. Hippotizer will then create the appropriate controller for the function and allow you to size and position it anywhere on the screen. And as with most other functions on the new Hippotizer, it's HippoNet-aware which means that you can take controls from any other Hippotizers on a network and have them side by side on the same control screen. So you could, for example, be monitoring Layer 1 preview on several other Hippotizers whilst keeping the colour controls for those layers on your screen simultaneously. This flexibility allows you to distribute the controls for one machine to those individuals who need the functions most.

Screen macros allow you to store your layouts. You can then attach them automatically to selections made from the HippoNet selection window, so that the corresponding Control Centre is displayed whenever you select a Hippotizer or group of Hippotizers. Want copies of the Control Centre on other machines? No problem. Save, distribute then let each user customise it to their given task.

The control screen is now also resolution independent so you can make it as big as you like. You can even span it across multiple monitors. In conjunction with the GUI designer, you can now build the king of all Control Centres for your show or permanent installation.

It's never been easier to get Hippotizer's power to its destination..... from any location!
