Godskitchen Boombox

Two Green Hippo HippoCritter media servers made their first appearance at a large Godskitchen Boombox event in Kiev, Ukraine in December 2009.

Godskitchen, presented by the Angel Music Group has, over the last decade established itself as one of the world’s most successful and innovative brands, creating international tours and events of dance and club nights.

Synonymous with modern electronic dance music around the world, Godskitchen creates extravagant atmospheres in some of the most stunning locations and venues, using ground-breaking visual production and music to create a spectacular assault on your senses.

2009 saw the Ukrainian launch of Godskitchen Boombox, an event combining an exceptional mix of architectural, multimedia, visual and music concepts, and showcasing some of the best DJs, such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, David Guetta, Above&Beyond and Markus Schulz among others. Since its launch, Godskitchens Boombox has toured Poland, Belarus, South Africa, Australia and Russia with future events confirmed in South East Asia, Taiwan, Mexico and Turkey.

The centre of the show is a 16x8x4 metre construction covered with fabric which is used as a projection surface, creating a 3D illusion. The DJs box, situated in the middle of the structure and high above the clubbing crowd, is incorporated into many projection displays and a live-feed from the box is shown on two screens either side of the Boombox construction.

For Video, four 20K projectors and two 10K projectors are being controlled by 1024d’s custom software. Yet for us at Green Hippo, the most interesting development, (though we are somewhat biased), are the two HippoCritter servers, which were introduced at the December show in Kiev and will be used frequently at larger events this year. The Hippotizers will receive the output from the custom software, which will then be relayed across 90 panels of Colourweb 125 or similar LED displays.

The show will be controlled using either Chamsys Magic Q or Avolites Pearl Expert consoles and besides the elaborate projection design, the concept also uses a variety of lights, with the show kit including:

22x Mac 2000 Spot

24x Mac 2000 Wash

16x VaryLED 384

24x Atomic 3000

16x 4 Cell Molefay

We are thrilled that Hippotizers have been integrated into the Godskitchen Boombox concept and play a part in creating such a phenomenal visual display at these ongoing events.
