Green Hippo project on the moon

Hippotizer, the world’s greatest media server, can finally have the accolade of the universe’s greatest media server.

Green Hippo was approached to provide a video playback solution for projecting on the moon.
Due to the gravity of this project, Green Hippo’s Special Projects team were contracted to provide specifications and their technical knowledge to consult on the video playback aspect.

Due to the large number of projectors used for this, the Hippotizer UberPan component was one of the only systems in the universe that would be able to handle the pixel resolution required. Using UberPan also helped to split and distribute the media between all the outputs.
In the early stages thought was given to power and also reliability. Due to the satellite structure that would be floating above the moon, power and communication was an ongoing issue. The solution for the power issue was found to be solar panels from the sun and communication was eventually achieved between mission control and Neil A Strong and Albert R Monkey Jr.

Nigel Sadler, Head of Special Projects at Green Hippo, commented. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of something the whole world will see. At Green Hippo we always seek to boldly go where no one has gone before and on this project we have succeeded.”

Tom Etra, Special Projects Engineer, also added “When the project first fell on my desk I thought it would be out of this world if we could pull this off. Onsite technical support was very difficult and gave us the chance for a media server technician to explore new territories.”
