Hippotizer Version 4.2.2 builds on the success of V4 by adding a series of improvements throughout the Hippotizer system.
Version 4.2.2 is designed to improve the experience and stability of Hippotizer thanks to a series of changes in the media player and Zookeeper specifically.
A major initiative of 4.2.2 was to improve the frame synchronisation of the media player. Whether using inter-system sync with HippoNet or following timecode, Hippotizer now enjoys even more accurate playback. Many of the changes are invisible. The most noticeable difference however is the ability to play back Mpeg encoded media has been removed.
See below for a link to instructions on converting mpeg encoded media to FlexRes.
The speed of Zookeeper, specifically in switching between views and layouts has been greatly improved in 4.2.2. We also have fixed a series of issues that would degrade Zookeeper’s speed and stability over time.
Changes in behaviour
- MPEG-2 Playback has been removed: Any content encoded to MPEG-2 (either encoded in Hippotizer V3 or V4)
- The image sequence detection in Watchfolders has been changed. Any images with the same name and ending in a number will be treated as a sequence. Use the convention of file name, followed by map slot (if applicable) and then frame number: FileName[1,2]_0001
- The Audio playback system has been improved to allow for wider support of multi-channel audio and more compatibility with output devices.
